GMSM (Now known as Camber Arts) with their history of making theatrical plays, strived to make a play where the story can be seen and interacted between each other from both the physical and digital world. Actions done by the real life actor would have a effect on the digital world and vice versa. Guests were welcomed to pick up the controller and become an actor themselves throughout the play.
As the actor performed an action, it was up to me to cue the event in-game such as time of day shifts, teleporting the mocap NPC to the next scene, particle trails to guide the player, etc. We as a team collaborated to make the player experience as seamless as possible with test showings and made adjustments after careful feedback.
